Natural History Museum

The Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Exhibition is an annual event featuring the best wildlife photography from around the world. We designed the exhibition in 1998 and 1999. It was sponsored by BG plc, and organised by BBC Wildlife Magazine and The Natural History Museum, where it is staged. The exhibition is the most popular temporary exhibition staged at the museum and our 1998 design won Design Week's Award for Best Temporary Exhibition Design.

The main objective of the exhibition is to display and celebrate the immense diversity of work submitted internationally. Our design response was inspired by the photographic process relative, in particular, to the study of light, focus and scale.

We collaborated with graphic designer, Karen Wilks and musician, Peter Spencer who created text and a specially commissioned sound scape for the exhibitions.
